The light and shadow of circumstance

The light and shadow of circumstance show us to be varied and nuanced, or shallow and banal, menacing or innocent. What is revealed is not the potential or the entirety. It is not all we could be, but is all that we are. It is our unique reflection- how what we are shows up in the light shown upon us. Seemingly different from the others. Seemingly the same as all the rest, flattened out, or set in high relief.
